NEW GP ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting this November 2025, a new male GP, Dr Christopher Hopwood, will be joining us.

Dr Christopher Hopwood is a dedicated and Highly Experienced General Practitioner. He began his medical journey with training in Australia. Following his qualification, he gained experience working overseas in the UK and various regions of Africa.

Upon his return to Australia, Dr Hopwood dedicated his expertise to rural and regional general medical practice, including in regional New South Wales and, more recently, Launceston, where he spent the last 9 years. Throughout his career, Christopher found satisfaction in mentoring and teaching medical students, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Christopher is a specialist GP, holder of a Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). His areas of interest include Geriatrics, Chronic Disease Management, such as the Management of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Standard: $80 ($36.10 out-of-pocket)

Antenatal: $85 ($38.25 out-of-pocket)

Saturday (after 1:00 PM) & Public Holidays

Standard: $105 ($47.85 out-of-pocket)
Long: $155 ($57.00 out-of-pocket)
Concession rates: $90/$140 ($32.85/$42.00 out-of-pocket)

Important Notes

No bulk billing: Weekday evenings (after 5 PM), Saturdays, or public holidays
Still bulk billed: Health assessments, chronic disease plans, subsidised vaccinations (without consultation)
Private fees apply: All procedures (skin excisions, ear syringing, etc.)

Applies to: Both face-to-face and telehealth appointments

We are pleased to announce the expansion of our infusion services at Chisholm Medical Centre.

Our new capabilities include:

Infusions for patients aged 14 and older
Administration of prescribed medications such as:
Migraine treatments
Biologicals
Other prescribed infusion medications

Telehealth Appointments

To be eligible for Telehealth consultation under Medicare, a patient must have attended a face-to-face appointment at the practice within the previous 12 months (unless meeting certain exception criteria).

If you do not meet Medicare requirements but would still like to have a Telehealth consultation, you’ll be charged a non-rebatable private fee ($50 for a standard appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays).

Iron Infusion Clinic

Our clinicians perform iron infusions or injections for the treatment of iron deficiency
We accept patients from other practices who wish to visit only to have this procedure performed. All you need is to bring your blood test results and your iron solution as prescribed by your doctor or arrange an appointment to see one of our doctors for a script prior to the procedure (preferably on a different day but this can also be done on the same day if you can’t make it on a different day). A referral letter is not required.
